I received a book of Vladimir Douchkine’s work, written by Alexander Baden. On page 49 of that book is displayed a collection of flats referred to as “Kings of England.” They are the engraving work of Otto Gottstein. It is love at first site. Does anyone know if these figures are still available, and if they are where they can be obtained?

Secondly, I would like to know what those of you who paint your figures do with them when they are done? Do you paint the flats and keep them for your own pleasure, or do you sell them to collectors, or what? I look forward to reading your responses. Post your replies under “Leave a Reply:”

Thanks for any help you can provide.

  1. The figures you are looking for were edited by Paul Krog Switzerland, he passed away recently. The figures he sold was mainly old figures from the editors, Blum, Gottstein and Kolbrunner, Gottstein was not an engraver himself. I’ve heard that the figures should be available from their new owner, at the International Zinnfiguren Börse in Kulmback, later this year in august, hope this helps somehow.
